Forti History

FORTI was registered in 1965 as Rajasthan Vayapar Udyog Mandal by former members of the Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce – JP Bajaj, Umrao Mal Chordia, Vishwanatha Kejriwal, and Shri Periwal with the motive of supporting businesses and trade within the state, facilitating conversations that breed change and innovation to bring about a bigger change in the business world.

On 7th February 1980, Rajasthan Vayapar Udyog Mandal was re-named “Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industry” with the same mission and vision at the core of its foundation. Umra Amatal Chordia became the first elected President of FORTI, remained in power from 1995-1998, and contributed significantly to the growth of FORTI.

Post that, FORTI has been headed by incredible visionaries who have been the guiding light of the organization, helping it achieve new milestones. Currently, FORTI is headed by Mr. Suresh Agarwal who is the only FORTI President to have been re-elected to power for 4 consecutive terms. Under the guidance of these exceptional leaders, FORTI continues on its stride towards ease of conducting business and trade and helping businessmen establish their presence globally.

FORTI is defined not only by its presence and people but it is also defined by its fundamental values that are reflected through its daily activities and decisions. These fundamental values are what propel FORTI to new heights.

Mr. I. C. Agarwal is a successful industrialist, a distinguished educationalist, and a social philanthropist. Mr. Agarwal completed his B.Tech. (Hons) Engineering Degree from IIT Kharagpur in 1961 and since then, has been tirelessly working for the Industry and Society. He started his career with one of India’s leading organizations – Shriram Group, and after reaching the position of Senior Executive Director, started his own venture in Ghaziabad in 1988 by the name Ghaziabad Precision Products Pvt. Ltd. (commonly known as GPP). GPP is manufacturing and supplying Valve Train Engine Components and Assemblies to OEM customers only, in national & international markets, including Fortune 500 Companies. Presently, GPP has 2 world-class manufacturing units in Ghaziabad and another 2 ancillary units in Sitarganj (Uttarakhand), to meet the total requirements of Ashok Leyland, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tata Motors. Being associated with many educational institutions in and outside Ghaziabad, Mr. Agarwal is one of the founder members of the IMT, Ghaziabad and since then he is regularly contributing to the institution’s growth as a member of its Management Committee. Additionally, Mr. Agarwal is also professionally enhancing the image of many other schools and colleges such as Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ch. Chabbildas Senior Secondary School, and Lajpat Rai Degree College, to name a few. Being one of the founder presidents of the Ghaziabad Management Association and Mr. Agarwal is actively working for its progress as an Advisor. He is also associated with NGOs like Rotary Club, Ghaziabad, and CARTE (Centre for Agrarian Research Training and Education), helping the Social Sector in a modest and humble way.

Rafeek Khan

Rafeek Khan is a member of the legislative assembly of Rajasthan from the Adarsh Nagar constituency. He won the elections for MLA in 2018 as a candidate of the Indian National Congress.

Mr. Sanjay Agarwal is the promoter and Managing Director & CEO of AU Small Finance Bank and has over 26 years of strategic executive experience. He is a Commerce graduate from Government College, Ajmer, and all-India rank-holder Chartered Accountant. He possesses extensive experience in Retail Finance, Accountancy, Agriculture & Rural Economy, Banking, Human Resource Management, Credit Risk, and Business Management. He spearheaded several initiatives that helped to create a nimble and agile organization. He is credited with creating a culture of business excellence and delivering superior benchmark performance through his vision and execution-oriented approach. He has led the Bank’s evolution to the highest standards of corporate governance with enhanced disclosures and high-level engagement with key stakeholders. He has received many awards and recognitions including EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018, Innovative Leader of the Year by ET Now, Business Leader of the Year award by ICAI, Personality of the year (Finance Category) at Rajasthan Entrepreneur and the Excellence Award, ET Game changer of India – 2019.
